There’s no dearth of museums in Las Vegas. This magnificient city has so much in store to offer that a vacation needs to be planned very meticulously to ensure that you don’t miss out on anything. There are museums displaying various things - be it costumes, jewellery, pianos,cars, art pieces, ethnic dolls or exhibitions on biological sciences. Infact, it is rare to find so many museums in a single city and such vast variety at the same time. Museums in Las Vegas are a must visit for each and every tourist.

Guggenheim Hermitage

The Guggenheim Hermitage Museum in Las Vegas opened October 7, 2001, under the direction of Thomas Krens , Director, Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation, in collaboration with Dr. Mikhail Piotrovsky, Director, The State Hermitage Museum and Sheldon Adelson, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer, Las Vegas Sands Corp. The inaugural exhibition Masterpieces and Master Collectors: Impressionist and Early Modern Paintings from the Hermitage and Guggenheim Museums, a selection of 42 key works highlighting the distinct but highly complementary strengths of these two world-renowned collections set a standard of excellence that has been maintained through 10 exhibitions presented over seven-years to 1.1 million, visitors.

Lied Discovery Children’s Museum

The museum features hands-on exhibits in the arts, sciences, nature, music and humanities; a Traveling Exhibition Gallery; an Early Childhood Pavilion and an eight-story Science Tower in 22,000 square feet of exhibit space. The mission of Lied Discovery Children’s Museum is to provide a vibrant and engaging environment, through exhibits and programs, where children and families from economically and culturally diverse backgrounds actively participate in playful learning environments!

Educational Museums

Las Vegas has quite a few museums that can be found in some of the resorts and hotels lining the Strip. The Bellagio and Venetian carry exhibits showcasing paintings and works by the masters. The Luxor provides tributes to King Tutankhamun (Tut), and the Imperial Palace has its impressive collection of classic automobiles.

Atomic Testing Museum

The Atomic Testing Museum portrays world history through varied representations of the story of the Nevada Test Site and its programs.

The museum features many not seen before, first-person narratives, large iconic artifacts, environmental re-creations, theatrical devices, and interactive elements for personal exploration.

It also presents multiple viewpoints expressed in multimedia presentations and stunning graphics.
