How To Play Carrom
Before shooting, try touching the striker with your finger, to make sure that it is really on line. This will in turn improve your accuracy and prevent you from hurting your finger. No part of your body, except your hand, should cross the imaginary diagonal line nor should your elbow protrude over the frame in front of you. Even your feet or knees should not leave your quadrant. The red coin or queen could be pocketed at any time after sinking your first coin respectively but should be sunk before your last one.
The red coin or queen could be pocketed at any time after sinking your first coin respectively but should be sunk before your last one. After getting the queen, you should sink one of your carrom coins, thereby “covering” it, into any pocket in the next shot, or she is suppose to return back to the carrom board’s center spot. Once the queen is covered, who ever empties their coins first wins the game. The winner of a board collects one point for every opponent’s coins left at the end and three points for the queen if covered by the winner (if in case covered by the loser, no-one gets the points). No more points could be collected for the queen after your score reaches 22. A game consists of 25 points or eight boards, either comes first.
Regardless of which technique you select two things are important. The first is stable your striking pass on the carom gear board with the base/edge of your palm, and/or thumb, and/or non-striking fingers. This makes sure that the striker is flicked and not pushed. The other thing is to confirm your striking finger is as close as you could to the striker, touching it if possible.
